According to the World Health Organization, Africa is vastly affected by three chronic diseases namely HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis. With limited access to western medicine that is considered effective, many lives are lost because of these unforgiving diseases. Globally, 50 percent of infants that die from malaria, pneumonia, measles, HIV, and tuberculosis are from Africa.
However, projected research also suggests that in the forthcoming years, chronic illnesses like cancer, heart disease, and kidney failure will become major killers. Researchers estimate that by 2030, 42% of deaths in Africa will be victims of these killer diseases. Currently, this statistic stands at 25%
