Before starting any treatment, it’s essential to understand the language of our body—the signals it gives us about our health and well-being. By interpreting these signals correctly, we can better support our body’s natural healing processes.

Recognizing Common Body Signals

Thirst and Hunger:
We are naturally attuned to signals for thirst and hunger, which prompt us to drink and eat.

Full Stomach:
Our body signals a full stomach through belching. This usually happens in a sequence: the first belch indicates a full stomach, followed by a second and third belch if the fullness continues.

Pain and Ache:
Any pain or ache in a specific body part often indicates congestion of carbon dioxide, water, air, or other substances.

Runny Nose and Sneezing:
These are signs that the body is trying to expel excess water.

Coughing:
Coughing can mean the body feels cold or is attempting to clear congestion in the throat and chest.

Itching:
Itching suggests that an increased blood flow is needed in that area.

Fever:
A fever indicates that white blood cells are battling germs, signifying an internal fight against infection.

Body Twisting:
When we feel the need to twist or stretch, it usually means our body is tired and in need of rest and oxygen.

Loss of Appetite:
A loss of appetite can indicate congestion and constipation, suggesting that the stomach and digestive organs are preoccupied with removing these issues or fighting a disease. In such cases, it’s best to consume only lukewarm water, fruit juices, or buttermilk to avoid overburdening the stomach.

Heart Pain or Murmur:
Pain or murmurs in the heart signal that the heart requires complete rest. It is advisable to stay in bed for 24 to 72 hours and receive appropriate treatment.

Responding to Body Signals

Understanding these signals is crucial for supporting our body’s healing process. Instead of trying to stop these signals abruptly with drugs, which can sometimes lead to other health issues, we should aim to help our body rid itself of the underlying problems. For example, sudden cessation of a fever might result in other complications, such as paralysis.

By paying attention to the language of our body and responding appropriately, we can promote better health and prevent the onset of more severe conditions.
